We take three major elements in consideration as helping new students to find their level of A Mandarin class: (1) Current Grade, (2) Previous Mandarin Learning Experience (formal or informal), (3) Parents and Children Preference. According to parents & students feedback, children feel more confident staying in a classroom with peers that share the same age/grade as theirs, and hence we recommend the following arrangement: 1B - Kindergarteners, 2B - 1st Graders, 3B - 2nd Graders, 4B - 3rd Graders, 5B - 4th Graders.
